David holds the BA in philosophy, MA in humanities, STM in parish ministry, and Ed. D. in religious education. He has authored ten books, the most recent ones being The Lion, the Church, and the Warfare, and Come & Go. As founder of MasterWorks, Inc., David frequently ministers at conferences, workshops, and retreats in the USA and abroad. While leading these colleges, Dr. Schroeder also pastored several churches through redevelopment.
Serving the next generation within a context of spiritual renewal, ethnic diversity and Christ-centered higher education has been his passion for over forty years. He and his wife Betzi live in Jacksonville, Florida, and they have three adult children and eight grandchildren.

Dr. David Schroeder is president of Pillar College in Newark, NJ. Pillar is a new college that is being built on an old foundation, known first as Zarephath Bible Institute in 1908, and as Somerset Christian College from 2001-2013. Pillar is a fully accredited college offering baccalaureate and master degree programs.
Dr. Schroeder also served as president of Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia for three years and as president of Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary (NY) for twelve years. Besides his work in Christian higher education, Dr. Schroeder has served in missions with International Teams, Trans World Radio, and The Christian and Missionary Alliance, under whom he was ordained in 1974 and served as a pastor for ten years.
